Jackson State University (JSU) recently received a generous $60,000 donation from Enbridge Inc., North America’s leading energy infrastructure company. The financial investment is slated to be evenly distributed across multiple programs on campus including the College of Business, College of Science, Engineering, and Technology and the JSU Career Service Center.
“It is an exciting time at Jackson State as we continue to build upon this monumental growth we are experiencing in this season. We’re extremely grateful to Enbridge for this generous financial investment into various departments within the university and I fully trust that our leadership within those departments will strategically allocate funds towards the immediate needs of our students,” said President Thomas K. Hudson, J.D.
Several academic leaders attended the check presentation, including Dean Fidelis Ikem, Ph.D., JSU College of Business, who looks forward to the development of this partnership with Enbridge that creates pathways for post collegiate job and internship opportunities.

This donation aids us in achieving our mission to provide a comprehensive learning experience for our students in an effort to develop ethical, technologically advanced, diverse global leaders who create business-centered solutions.”
Lashanda Jordan, Ph.D., executive director of JSU Career Services Center, expressed how helpful the allocated funds will be towards the development of the Tiger Career Closet, a project geared towards the professional development of students to prepare them for future success.
“The JSU Career Services Center is elated to receive such a generous donation from Enbridge,” said Jordan. “Their contribution to the center and the Tiger Career Closet will assist in setting our students up for success. We look forward to continuing to partner with Enbridge for student career opportunities.”
