Ashley F.G. Norwood is an assistant professor of Multimedia Journalism at Jackson State University. Norwood earned her Bachelors in English at Jackson State University and a Masters in Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Mississippi. She is an award-winning journalist. Formerly at Mississippi Public Broadcasting, Norwood was a senior radio news reporter and executive producer of the public affairs television show @Issue.
Norwood is founder of FG Media Productions, LLC and Executive Producer at Red Squared Communication Design Company in Jackson. She is passionate about documentary filmmaking and movement journalism that affects change in Black communities. Much of Norwood’s published work focuses on issues involving race, health, poverty and education.
