Registration Completed
Registration complete at JSU means the student has:
- Immunization records on file with the JSU Health Center
- Fall 2024 class schedule complete**
- All additional fees applied to student’s account
- All scholarships, grants, and/or loans applied to student’s account
- A registered room assignment*
- A registered board meal plan*
- A $0 balance or a payment plan authorized by Bursar/ Business Office
*Residential Students Only
**Undergraduate students must have 12 credit hours, and Graduate students must have 9 credit hours to be eligible for residential registration.

Emotional Support Animals must have written approval through the Disability Services/ADA Compliance Office prior to living community entry.
Process For Completing Registration
Step 1:
- Students must have immunization records on file with the JSU Health Center. Immunization records
may be submitted to healthservices@jsums.edu.
Step 2:
- Students must have a class schedule of at least 12 credit hours to qualify for financial aid.
- Student meets with an Academic Advisor to finalize class schedule.
Step 3: Financial Aid
- Go to studentaid.gov
- Click loans and grants
- Click Loan Entrance Counseling
- ✅ Complete
- Click Master Promissory Note – MPN
- ✅ Complete
Each step must be completed before the government can authorize financial aid with the University.
- Student can access this information through PAWS under the Financial Aid tab.
- Student meets with a Financial Aid Advisor to review financial aid award (scholarships, grants, loans, etc.)
- Depending on the required paperwork, the student may be unable to complete registration today (Entrance Loan Counseling & Master Promissory Note may be required). However, a conditional agreement will be made under these circumstances.
- Student proceeds to Housing & Residence Life table.
Step 4:
- Student can access their student account through THEE PORTAL under the Student tab, then select
the Student Account link. - If the student has confirmed their financial aid package: Student meets with a representative from the Business Office to discuss their payment options. Students have an option to pay in full or establish a payment plan.
- If the student has a $0 balance or payment plan in place, your registration is complete!
Step 5:
- If the student has a $0 balance or payment plan in place, the student can go to JSU ID Center to get their Student ID.
Student Registration Checklist
1. Check Your Account:
- Log into THEE PORTAL: Login Here (Use J-number & NetID)
- Select: “Student PAWS” icon > “JSU Bill Payment Suite” icon > “View Activity”
- Review Charges: Tuition, Housing Fees, Meal Plans, etc.
- Make Payments or Set Up a Payment Plan: Select “Make Payment” or “Enroll in Payment Plan”
2. Financial Aid:
- Ensure FAFSA is Submitted:
Federal aid awards are still being processed.
Awards will populate as assessments are completed.
3. Meal Plans:
- Default Plan: Tiger Platinum Unlimited
- Change Plan: Email aux@jsums.edu or meals@jsums.edu
(Residential students classified as upperclassmen with 30+ hours are eligible to change all-access meal plan.)
4. Immunization Records:
- Submit to Health Center:
