In 2009, President Barack Obama appointed Mr. James L. Hudson as the U.S. Executive Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The EBRD is the largest single investor in central, eastern and southern Europe and central Asia. Preceding this appointment, Mr. Hudson served as chairman of JLH Partners, LLC and as managing partner and co-founder of Hudson, Leftwich & Davenport, from which he counseled municipalities like Detroit, New Orleans and Oakland on commercial development and public infrastructure concerns. Deeply involved in the revitalization of Washington, D.C., he served as chairman of the finance committee of the National Capital Revitalization Corporation, public finance management member of the District of Columbia Financial Audit Committee and as a counselor, senior advisor and board member with the Northeast Corridor Improvement program for Amtrak and ConRail and the redevelopment of Reagan and Dulles National Airports. Mr. Hudson served as chairman of the Morehouse College Roard of Trustees as well as a board member of the National Mentoring Partnership Board of Directors, Smithsonian Museum of African Art Board of Directors, and WETA Public Television Board of Directors. Attorney Hudson earned the B.A. degree from Morehouse College and the J.D. degree from the Boston University School of Law.
