Faculty SoTL Research Assistance
–
The Center awards graduate assistantships to Jackson State faculty members to help increase their research productivity and/or improve their teaching performance. Assistantships are made to faculty members who designate the students with whom they will work. The award pays for up to twenty hours of work per week during the academic term. It does not include a tuition waiver. Student recipients must be enrolled full-time during the award period. The Center privileges applications from faculty members who are engaged in productive research agendas, teaching Core Curriculum courses and/or participating in Jackson State’s Quality Enhancement Program (QEP). Applications are considered on a rolling basis as funds are available. However, faculty members are advised to make requests in late summer for the academic term beginning in fall.

University Scholars Program
–
The University Scholars Program has nurtured research and scholarship leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals and presses by tenure-track faculty and integration of this research into courses and curricula. It has competitively awarded grants that fund research activities and a graduate assistantship during the summer semester. It also encouraged participants to work with scholars on and beyond the campus when possible and provided opportunities for presentation of findings through travel grants and an university-wide symposium.
