Ms.Anna Johnson has defended her dissertation on July 17, 2020. Her dissertation (topic: Evaluating the impact of the universal motorcycle helmet laws on riders’ fatalities) has analyzed the impacts of the state legislation on motorcycle element laws on riders’ fatalities through a comparative study. Her research conclusion indicates that public policy effectiveness of the regulation can be enhanced by requiring a level of personal buy-in from the citizens.
Professor Johnny Gilleylen served as the chair of the committee and the dissertation adviser. Professors Chester Robinson, Frances Liddell, Mary White, and Brenda Campbell served as the committee members.
