Dear MPPA Student
The Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) Program has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration since 1978. This accreditation
denotes that we have met professional standards and core competencies in educating students for careers in public services. Programs are reaccredited every seven years. The MPPA Program is up for reaccreditation which includes three major phases: (1) departmental intensive self-assessment or self-study of the MPPA Program in terms of accreditation standards and core competencies, (2) on-site review of the program by a three-member team of academics and practitioners (site visit team), and (3) a reaccreditation decision by the Commission on Peer Review and Accreditation (COPRA).
We are currently at the second phase in the review process in which we will host a site-visit. The Site-Visit Team will be here February 17-19, 2019. The Site Visit Team will meet with all MPPA
Students as a group on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on the 2nd Floor in Room 210. We strongly encourage your participation in this important student meeting.
The meeting will be followed by a reception from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on the first floor which all MPPA students are invited. Please RSVP by calling 601-979-6358 to let us know if you plan
to attend the meeting and/or reception no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Thanking you in advance for your support.
