On July 31, 2018, Mississippi Today published an article on her role in passing Senate Bill 2680 in 2017, to protect abused women in domestic violence in Mississippi.   According to the article, more than 600 abused women got protections over a year. due to the new divorce law. We are proud of what she has accomplished and what she has contributed to the enhanced welfare of abused women in the State.

Some of the doctoral students in the public policy program at JSU work at non-governmental organizations (NGO) to protect peoples in difficult situations, and provide additional services to poor or socially disadvantaged people in the State.

The doctoral program provides academic training to the practitioners, who develop broader and theoretical insights of the issues they deal with, and topics they are interested, in the areas of urban management, program management, policy analysis, and environmental policy. The doctoral students increase their credentials in their fields and find another opportunities of their career development, including in the academic field.
