Jackson State University PHIT staff recently attended the Office of the National Coordinator For Health Information Technology’s workforce program in Washington, DC. JSU is one of 10 ONC PHIT recipient institutions that were represented at the two-day event, June 20-21. This collaborative ONC meeting supported recipients’ efforts in building effective and sustainable programs focusing on increasing diverse backgrounds in the public health information and technology.
Their Objectives:
● Enhance professional relationships across recipients.
● Share best practices and lessons learned.
● Explore strategies for PHIT program success for the final two years of the program.
● Engage with ONC and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services leadership.
● Learn about public health activities at the federal level.
