Specialist in Education – Educational Administration (K-12) Concentration
The Specialist in education degree is a 33-hour program designed for educator who have already obtained a Master’s degree. This program is best suited for those who are seeking to further their leadership abilities and looking for promotion and career advancement. Further, specialist in education will help teachers who are looking to obtain administrative licensure and possibly a doctoral degree in the future.

Admission Requirements
• A master’s degree from an accredited college or university
• An overall GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the master’s degree
• A completed Specialist program application
• Three letters of recommendation
• Acceptable evidence of the applicant’s writing ability as determined by a writing assessment completed under the supervision of the screening committee
• A successful interview with the program screening committee
• A recommendation for admission by the screening committee
• A student must hold a valid teaching license
• Deadline for applications for summer/fall admissions is March 1.
• Valid teaching certificate and a Masters in Educational Leadership
• At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience
Degree Requirements
Students are required to complete 33 credit hours beyond the master’s degree and obtain a passing score on the Graduate Comprehensive Examination.
