Welcome to the Mississippi Child Welfare Institute, School of Social Work in the College of Public Service at Jackson State University. You are invited to view our home page, history, mission, and goals. We hope that you will also review our conference programs and recent conference proceedings. Our annual conferences, designed to provide a venue for presentation and discussion of best and promising practices derived from evidence-based practice and research, are certain to stimulate discussion, provide avenues for networking and collaboration, and thereby, improve service delivery to children and families. We are especially committed to improving the permanency outcomes for our most vulnerable children and youth in the child welfare system of care. Please take the journey with us as we partner with child and community advocates and leaders, and other professionals in the health and human services to build healthy and safe families and communities.
