Anastasia Taylor

Anastasia Taylor is the HCAC Director of Digital and Community Engagement. As a current student in the English master’s program at JSU, Anastasia is a member of the Graduate Student Association, the Graduate English Student Association, and Jackson State’s Writer Alliance (JSWA); they also act as the editor and designer of the JSWA publication, Thee 1877. Anastasia graduated in 2021 as Salutatorian with their Bachelor’s in English from Tougaloo College. During their studies and since then, their work has brought them into contact with many archival and research programs; throughout this work, they have continually focused on ways to increase advocacy and accessibility to marginalized communities, particularly within Jackson and Mississippi at large. In their free time, Anastasia creates visual art and writing that center around their lived experiences.
