Commencement Exercises for Undergraduate Students

The commencement practice for undergraduate students is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center. It is a requirement that you make plans to attend this practice session.
The Commencement Ceremony will be held at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium. Academic Regalia may be obtained from the JSU Bookstore (601-979-2021) in the JSU Student Center. Please be reminded that regalia must be returned immediately following the commencement ceremony. A drop off station will be located at the Stadium. For printing of Personalized Graduation Announcements/Invitations, please contact the JSU Bookstore at 601-979-2021 or order online at www.herff-jones.com/college/graduation. Because of the warm temperatures in Jackson during the month of May, all graduates should wear attire that is cool and comfortable but not any athletic shoes. Transportation will be provided to and from the Stadium with shuttles departing from the Assembly Center beginning at 5:30 a.m. with the last shuttle departing JSU at 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 4th.
Please use the West Street entrance to the Stadium Parking Lot. Jackson Police Department officers will be available to assist with Stadium traffic while JSU’s Police Officers will assist with Stadium parking. All guests should enter the Stadium for seating at the north end gates (the Visitors’ side). JSU Bookstore personnel will be available for any last minute regalia pickup on Saturday morning. However, it is advised that you pick up regalia on or before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday from the JSU Bookstore on the campus. Guests are encouraged to bring stadium seats and water. Stadium seats and water, however, will be available for purchase. Also available for purchase is a videotape of the commencement program at a nominal fee (Use Order Form enclosed). You will be allowed to place your order for the videotape during commencement practice and before and after the program on Saturday.
