If you have any difficulties regarding mobility, it is strongly advised that you bring your own mobility aid (i.e. wheelchairs, scooters and walkers).
Options for Handicapped Parking
Limited handicapped-accessible parking will be available in certain designated lots for those in need of special parking. Spaces will be provided on a first-come, first served basis. When these reserved lots are full, parking will be available in the regular parking areas. You will be directed to a lot and must have a state-issued handicap plate or placard.
There will be a campus shuttle system to transport individuals, with or without special needs, around the campus from the various parking lots to the Lee E. Williams Athletics and Assembly Center throughout the ceremony. A single golf cart will be available inside the Athletics and Assembly Center for mobility or elderly needs.
Seating
Special seating is reserved on first row of each section for guests who require each due to age, illness, or physical impairment. These individuals must be seated 30 minutes to an hour prior to Commencement.
Arrival time begins:
- December 07, 2012 – 4:30 p.m.
- December 08, 2012 – 6:30 a.m.
At that point, the area becomes open to the public. Please note that one family member may accompany the person with special needs; however, the rest of the family will need to sit in the stands. If the need arises, persons with special needs will preempt the seats of those who accompany other individuals.
Sign Language Interpreters
Sign language interpretation of the ceremony will be provided. The interpreters will be near the front on the left and right as one faces the stage via video screen.
