Jackson Area Federal Credit Union membership is available to employees of Jackson State University. In addition, we offer credit union membership to anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Hinds County, MS. Immediate family members of a credit union are also eligible for membership in Jackson Area Federal Credit Union. Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives, owned and controlled by their members. When a profit is made, after reserves are met, credit unions return profits back to their members by offering lower rates on loans, higher dividends on savings and charging lower fees.

Jackson Area Federal Credit Union also participate in Co-Op Shared Branching, a network of over 5,000 branches in the U.S where you can go and handle teller transactions. Establishing membership in Jackson Area Federal Credit Union opens you a share savings account. You may apply for an ATM card if you like.
In addition to share savings accounts, we offer checking accounts, Christmas club accounts, certificates of deposit, IRAs, and a variety of types of loans. We finance new and used vehicles, motorcycles, boats, RVs, Houses, just to name a few. All you do is complete the attached membership application and scan/email to wcameron@jacksonareafcu.com along with your driver’s license and social security card. The minimum deposit required is $25.00. You may choose to set up a payroll deduction from your paycheck at JSU and start saving now! You may also choose to call and make an appointment to set up your account.
