All services described below are in reference to Education and Grants (E&G) facilities.
HVAC Shop: This shop is responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading HVAC systems and equipment along with assisting other skilled trades. Preventative maintenance includes changing filters, belts, and greasing HVAC motors and pumps on a quarterly basis.
Plumbing Shop: This shop is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal on campus. Quarterly preventive maintenance includes checking and clearing water lines connected to sinks, toilets and drains.
Electrical Shop: This shop performs maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas including heating, refrigeration, lighting, motors and generator equipment. Preventative maintenance includes regularly changing bulbs throughout E&G facilities.
Mechanical Services does not charge for:
- Repairing and/or replacing existing equipment
- Damage caused from normal use.
Mechanical Services does charge for:
- Department damage (not caused by normal use)
- Special requests for changes or improvements by departments (remodel, new power outlets, etc.).
- Services needed to repair specialized department equipment (e.g., appliances, lab equipment, etc.).
Requesting Services
Mechanical Services aims to respond quickly to requests for maintenance, trouble calls, and repairs. In the event that our services cannot be provided due to availability or labor limitations, notification will be sent to the requestor.
