Fidel Ezeala-Harrison received his Ph.D. (Economics) from the University of Manitoba, Canada; M.A. (Economics) from York University, Toronto, Canada; and his undergraduate training from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is Professor of Economics in the College of Business, Jackson State University, and has been teaching and researching economics and business issues for over 25 years at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He is the author of four books: Theory and Policy of International Competitiveness (Praeger, 1999); International Economic Growth and Development (IPWI Press, 1997); Economic Development: Theory and Policy Applications (Praeger, 1996); and co-editor of Perspectives on Economic Development in Africa (Praeger, 1994). He has published nearly 100 research Journal articles, book-chapters, book-reviews, and academic conference papers; and given over 60 research and academic conference paper presentations. During the summer of 2000, he was Visiting Professor at the International Competitiveness Workshop, Fujian University, China; and during summer 1997, he was Visiting Research Associate on International Economic Growth and Development, at the University of Newcastle, Australia; and Visiting Professor at the Indonesian Institute of Management Studies, Jakarta, Indonesia. At Jackson State, Fidel Ezeala- Harrison has taken pride in actively engaging, advising, mentoring, and instructing students; while leading them on to pursue and reach for the highest heights. He insists on nothing but the best from his students while taking care to not be unduly overbearing, but yet demanding on them to achieve their best. Fidel received the JSU One Excellence Award in teaching, research and service in 2012, and the College of Business Faculty Researcher of the Year Award for the year 2004, and again for the year 2006. He also received the Jackson State University Faculty Productivity Award for the year 2003-2004.
