Biography, Geungu Yu, DBA
Dr. Geungu Yu is currently an associate professor of finance at Jackson State University (JSU), Jackson, Mississippi. He joined the JSU faculty in 1992 as an assistant professor. He became a naturalized United States citizen in 1994. He holds a D.B.A in Finance, an M.A. in Economics, a B.S. in Economics, and a B.A. in English Language Education. He has authored or co-authored fourteen peer-reviewed journal articles that have appeared in such journals as The Global Journal of Finance and Economics, The Journal of International Trade & Economic Development, Journal of Social Sciences, Banks and Bank Systems, Southwestern Economic Review, Journal of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Journal of Interdisciplinary Business Research. He is an author of chapters in two college textbooks in China: A Textbook of College English in Economics and Management; A Textbook of Basic College English in Economics and Management. His research interests include: financial economics, market efficiency, asset pricing behavior, portfolio theory and management, international finance, and regional economics. His current teaching courses are: Seminar in International Trade and Finance, International Finance, Investments, Business Finance, Financial Asset Management, etc. He is a faculty advisor for the JSU Chapter of Financial Management Association. He served as President of Southwestern Society of Economists (2010-2011), an academic association affiliated with the Federation of Business Disciplines. He is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, Beta Gamma Sigma, and Delta Sigma Pi. He has been an eCollege Certified Online Instructor as well as a certified JSU Blackboard online instructor since 2012. He has been the manager of TR-ILL (Trading Room- Interdisciplinary Learning Laboratory) since 2014. He is a recipient of the 2015 JSU Presidential Creative Award.

OUR PROGRAM
The Business Administration program combines courses in management, marketing, economics, finance, and business law, offering students a broad knowledge of the functional areas of a company and how they connect to one another. These topics are especially beneficial for students with small business ownership plans and for students who want to have an administrative career in financial organizations.
Economics – Our economics degree is a specialized academic program that focuses on the study of how societies allocate resources to meet their needs and wants. This degree typically takes four years to complete and covers a wide range of topics related to economic systems, policies, and trends. The curriculum for an economics degree includes courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and economic history. Students also take courses in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis to develop the analytical and quantitative skills needed to understand and analyze economic phenomena.
Business Administration – Our business administration degree is a specialized academic program that provides students with a broad understanding of the principles and practices of business management. The degree typically takes four years to complete and covers a wide range of topics related to business operations, strategy, finance, and marketing.The curriculum for a business administration degree includes courses in accounting, finance, marketing, operations management, and organizational behavior. Students also take courses in economics, statistics, and business law to gain a better understanding of the broader business environment.

The degree typically takes four years to complete and covers a wide range of topics related to business operations, strategy, leadership, and finance. The curriculum for a business management degree includes courses in accounting, finance, marketing, operations management, organizational behavior, and leadership. Students also take courses in economics, statistics, and business law to gain a better understanding of the broader business environment.
Marketing – Our marketing degree is a specialized academic program that provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to create, promote, and distribute products and services in today’s global marketplace. The degree typically takes four years to complete and covers a wide range of topics related to marketing research, consumer behavior, branding, advertising, and digital marketing. The curriculum for a marketing degree includes courses in marketing research, consumer behavior, branding, advertising, public relations, and digital marketing. Students also take courses in statistics, economics, and business law to gain a better understanding of the broader business environment.
Supply Chain Management -Our supply chain management degree is a specialized academic program that provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to manage the flow of goods and services from the point of origin to the point of consumption. The degree typically takes four years to complete and covers a wide range of topics related to logistics, operations management, procurement, and transportation. The curriculum for a supply chain management degree includes courses in logistics and supply chain management, operations management, procurement, transportation, and inventory management. Students also take courses in statistics, economics, and business law to gain a better understanding of the broader business environment.
