Financial Aid

Funds are available to provide each student financial support in the following areas: 

1. Monthly Award ($600/UG; $2000/G)
2. Full Graduate Tuition
3. Tutorial assistance
4. Travel

REQUIREMENTS:

Undergraduate

1. ACT: 21
2. High School/College GPA: 3.0
3. High School/College Transcripts
4. Three letters of recommendation
5. Enrolled in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology in the Biology or Chemistry/Biochemistry Department

Graduate

1. College GPA: 3.0
2. College Transcript
3. Three letters of recommendation
4.  Accepted to MS Program in Biology or Chemistry at JSU

Eligibility: Awards are available for students who are first-time freshmen, juniors or first-year graduate students.  Applicants should be enrolled in the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology at Jackson State University in either Biology or Chemistry/Biochemistry.  To be eligible for program student must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. 

Application Process: Applications for awards are reviewed by the RISE Internal Advisory Committee.  The deadline for applications is July 31 with notification of award by August 11 each year.  Application forms are available in the RISE Program Office, the Department of Biology or at the program website below.
