A limited number of academic scholarship awards are available to students who have demonstrated the potential to successfully matriculate into an engineering program. Students pursuing any other major are ineligible for these scholarships. All scholarship recipients must be continuously enrolled full-time in one of the three aforementioned majors at Jackson State University, and recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of at least 2.75 for continued eligibility. Scholarships are renewable, upon reapplication.

Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must have completed high school and meet all entrance requirements for the University.
- Minimum high school GPA of 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale;
- Minimum ACT composite score of 21 or higher (or SAT: 950 – Math 430, Verbal 390);
- Completion of two units of high school algebra, one unit of geometry, and one unit of trigonometry;
- Completion of one unit of chemistry and one unit of high school physics.

Transfer and Current Students

Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must meet all entrance requirements for the University.
- Entering Junior/Community College or other transfer students must have a minimum GPA 3.25 on a 4.00 grading scale.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have completed College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics.
- MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT

- Completed Engineering Scholarship Application form
- Official copy of high school or college transcript(s)
- H.S. students should also submit a letter of recommendation from a member of the high school mathematics or science faculty.
- · The Associate Dean and the Chairs of the Engineering Departments will review all applications.
Application Deadlines
- · Applicants who plan to enroll in Fall must file an application by May 15.
- · Applicants who plan to enroll in Spring must file an application by October 1.
