Xia Zhang

Xia Zhang is the fourth-year Ph. D student in Accounting and the graduate teaching assistant—instructor at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. She earned her Master’s degree in Accountancy in 2003 from University of Alabama in Huntsville. She obtained her M.A. in English from Shandong University in 1996 and B.A. in English from Shandong Normal University in 1991.

Prior to the pursuit of the doctoral program, she taught as an accounting adjunct faculty at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL. As an English assistant professor, she taught English for English majors and Science and Engineering majors several years at Beijing Institute of Technology and at Dezhou University in China. She has some years accounting professional experiences at different international corporations such as Sanmina-SCI, Continental Automotive Systems, and Waste Management in the U.S.

She is a member of different sections of American Accounting Association including Auditing section and Accounting Behavioral and Organization section. Her primary research interests are in auditing and financial accounting. Her primary teaching interests are in principles of accounting, cost accounting and accounting information systems in traditional and blended platform.
