Jackson State University’s Financial Literacy Fair Empowers Students to Achieve Financial Success
Jackson State University’s commitment to equipping students with essential life skills was front and center at the recent Financial Literacy Fair sponsored by the Auxiliary Enterprises department. The fair provided a platform for students to learn from financial experts on how to achieve their financial goals and make informed decisions about money management.
Participating financial institutions, including Bank Plus, Regions Bank, and Cadence Bank, shared valuable insights and resources with students, offering guidance on budgeting, saving, investing, and other key aspects of personal finance. Through interactive presentations and one-on-one consultations, students were able to enhance their financial literacy and gain practical knowledge that will serve them well in their future endeavors.
One highlight of the fair was the visit of the Mayor of Jackson, Chokwe Antar Lumumba, who took the time to meet with students, emphasizing the importance of financial literacy and responsible money management. The mayor’s presence underscored the broader community support for initiatives that promote financial education and empower individuals to take control of their financial futures.
Due to its overwhelming success, the Financial Literacy Fair is set to become a recurring event, with plans to host it each semester to continue offering students access to vital financial resources and expertise. By making financial literacy a priority and creating a platform for learning and growth, Jackson State University is furthering its mission to prepare students for success both inside and outside the classroom.
