Jonathan Buchanon was born and raised in Jackson, Ms, where he was in the APAC program from elementary and throughout his time at Peeples Middle School. He later attended Jim Hill High School and was a part of the International Baccalaureate program. During his tenure at Jim Hill, he was a member of the Tiger baseball team and Tiger marching band. After high school, Jonathan accepted a W.E.B. Dubois honors scholarship to attend Jackson State University. In December 2014, Jonathan earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Engineering degree.
Upon graduation, he accepted a position in Dallas, TX with State Farm as a Systems Analyst. As a Systems Analyst, Jonathan helps build new or modify existing software to meet business systems requirements through software component designing, coding, testing, and quality review. Examples include statefarm.com, mobile applications, policy administration systems, claim management systems and more.
