Jackson State University is a charter member of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI), which was founded at the University of South Florida in 2010. The mission of the Academy is to recognize and encourage inventors; enhance the visibility of university technology and innovation; encourage the disclosure of intellectual property; educate and mentor innovative students; and translate the inventions of its members to benefit society. To become a member of the Jackson State University chapter, individuals must have a patent filed with the USPTO.
